RECRUITMENT

URGENTLY NEEDED MORE CREW  .... COME DOWN AND CHECK US OUT !

WANT TO JOIN US?

We are always seeking to strengthen the unit by recruiting new members.  There are numerous opportunities within Ryde Inshore Rescue to learn new skills, develop your potential and play an important role in the community.  But we need the right people.  If you have ambition, commitment and enthusiasm we would be delighted to meet you.  If you are considering applying to become a boat crew member, you must be able to spare at least one evening a week and on average, at least one half day each weekend, to be able to meet the demands of the training and duty watches.

As crew you will:

  • qualify for marine VHF radio operators licence
  • pass the RYA (Royal Yachting Association) Powerboat Level 2 and  Safety Boat courses
  • qualify as a First Aider

White
has taken over as training officer in addition to becoming our Chairman from the AGM in November. Our training program has paid off and through this we have been able to reinstate our weekday call out availability to HMCG. Apart from in-house training we are planning to get our new members their VHF licence’s early in 2008 and also renew existing members First Aid certificates.  Congratulations to Andy Cheetham who as been made up to a senior coxswain. With the new boat arriving in November there has been a furry of training activities for the crew to become acquainted with the boat and all its electronic equipment.
