New HQ Roof Renovation Appeal
With more sophisticated equipment in our new lifeboat and other specialist equipment such as tractors getting bigger we are outgrowing our Rescue Centre at Appley. Built in 1978 principally as a lifeguard base, the building is leaking badly it needs a new roof and we need more room to train, and to store vital equipment.
Twice we have applied to the Big Lottery fund under their community enterprises but have been turned down as our service to the community doesn’t fit in with their initiatives. As we must do something to avoid letting our service decline we have scaled down our plans for a second story by making use of just the space facilitated by having a pitched roof as the drawing shows.
Even this modest improvement will cost some £140,000. from our existing funds we have put aside £50000 to start the fund and by the end of 2007 this had grown to £65,000 We still have a long way to go and as we cannot get the Lottery to help us we need the help of as many volunteers, organisations and Businesses as possible if we are to achieve our goal. If you would like to put yourself or your business or organisation forward please give us a call on either 01983 812178 or 01983 613401
Donations will be gratefully accepted at our Rescue Centre at Appley, the counter at Ward Financial Services in Union St or to our Treasurer at 7 Cherrytree Rd, Seaview PO34 5JF
